So I got a new and exciting job working for a Catholic school online as a curriculum specialist and academic advisor. I am really excited about this job and looking forward to the new career opportunity! Unfortunately this means leaving my current job at. I have really enjoyed working for my current employers and will miss many of my great colleagues and friends! I have learned a lot here and been able to grow both personally and professionally. One thing I am going to have to say I am going to miss most is my iPad. New job means I have to turn in my baby!
Now this puts me into a place were I must make a decision, do I buy a new iPad? Now the tech guy in me says is that even a question, you go buy one? A little background, I have a MacBook Pro (1 year old) and I am getting the new iPhone, so do I need an iPad? Obviously I am the first one to say this device is going to revolutionize the educational industry, so ok I have to buy one, but now which one and under which scenarios?
Buy Now or Buy Later? WWDC is currently going on and more than my excitement for the new iPhone announcement is a hope for a price drop on the iPad. Now the question is do I wait for the price drop or go buy one…….today? ☺
More Space? My current iPad is the 16GB WiFi version. I have loved it! The question is do I get another 16GB or go bigger. I am a space junky, it makes me feel good to see a lot of free space. On my current 16GB iPad I have about 5GB free. This is sort of enough, but as I use the iPad more, and I will be traveling with my new job I think the more space will be good for movies and presentations I may take with me. Still confused why Apple charges $100 for 16 more GBs when I can buy an external 1TB for $100, but I digress!
WiFi or 3G? This is the real question with my iPad. Two things come into factor here. The new iPhone is rumored to offer tethering, so if that is the case no need for 3G. Now the other thing is ATT just released new data plans so for as little as $15 a month I could have 3G service. Also I have considered getting the 3g on the iPad and NOT getting the new iPhone………. did I just say that?

Great news on the new job, outstanding! My advice is this: Get an iphone and play with that a year. Then next year get the iPad 2.0. I also doubt there will be a price drop yet on the iPad. They are selling well, so what incentive does Apple have to drop the price?
